It was an atmosphere of excitement and enthusiasm on Tuesday as students of Dairy Farm Senior Secondary School, Sango-Agege, Ikeja, welcomed the community outreach train of Spires Media and IHS.

The initiative, which has already visited schools across the Lagos Island, Ikorodu and Epe divisions, continued its impactful engagement in Ikeja, where hundreds of students participated in an interactive session focused on education, career development, personal growth and responsible living.

Popular on-air personality and host of The Honest Bunch Podcast, Chukwudi Ezugwu, engaged the students on the importance of making informed professional career choices and the critical role of education in achieving a successful and fulfilling future.

Ezugwu also addressed the dangers of drug abuse and other social vices, urging the students to remain focused and disciplined despite the numerous distractions confronting young people today.

He encouraged the students to recognize the opportunities before them and make the most of their formative years.

> “This is your time, and whatever you make of it will greatly determine the quality of life you will live many years from now. Among you are the best brains in the world in waiting, across all sectors, so endeavour to achieve the best of your potential,” Ezugwu said.

The Vice Principal of the school, Mrs. Ogunbenwon Bety, commended Spires Media and IHS for bringing the initiative to the school, noting that the programme would positively influence the students’ academic orientation and career aspirations.

> “This event will significantly improve the orientation of our pupils. We are grateful to the organizers for coming to our school with such an initiative,” she said.

As part of the outreach, telecommunications infrastructure giant IHS presented the schools with a range of educational and sporting materials, including notebooks, school bags, water bottles, footballs and other items.

The community engagement initiative is part of activities leading to the commencement of the 2026 edition of the Spires 5-Aside Naija Street Soccer Tournament, and is designed to extend the tournament’s impact beyond football by promoting education, youth development, career awareness and positive community engagement.

The outreach programme, which has recorded engagements across several divisions of Lagos, will conclude on Thursday with a visit to Otto Awori Senior Secondary School in the Badagry Division.

Meanwhile, preparations are in top gear for the 2026 Spires 5-Aside Naija Street Soccer Tournament, with sixteen teams drawn from the five divisions of Lagos set to compete in the third edition of the grassroots football competition.

The tournament is scheduled to kick off on Tuesday, October 27, 2026, bringing together young football talents for another season of competition, talent discovery, community engagement and youth development.
