Ikeja, Lagos — Soccer Gem FC delivered a commanding performance in their opening fixture of the Spires 5-Aside Divisional Qualifiers, sweeping aside Useful Youth FC with a dominant 6-2 victory after 40 minutes of fast-paced action.

The star of the show was undoubtedly Milo, who etched his name into the tournament’s early history by bagging the first hat-trick of the competition. His clinical finishing proved too much for the Useful Youth defense to handle. Further goals from Nnamdi, Olayieola, and Daniel underscored Soccer Gem FC’s attacking prowess.

Useful Youth FC managed to pull two late goals back through Paul and Michael, but by then, the damage had been done. Soccer Gem’s early blitz had already ensured their place in the next round.

With two matches already in the books, the Spires 5-Aside Tournament is living up to its promise of showcasing high-quality grassroots football and unearthing future stars of the game.

The action continues today with Ballers FA set to take on Amsterdam FA at 12 noon, followed by the final fixture of the day between Devinely Blessed FC and Blood and Sand FC at 1 PM. Both matches will be held at the El Cesped pitch, located on Victoria Odeniran Street, Salvation Road, Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos.
