DG LSSC LAUDS IHS–SPIRES5ASIDE PARTNERSHIP, CALLS FOR MORE PRIVATE-SECTOR INVOLVEMENT
BY Balogun Wasiu:
The Director-General of the Lagos State Sports Commission, Hon. Lekan Fatodu, has commended the partnership between IHS Nigeria and Spires5aside, describing stronger private-sector involvement as essential to driving sustainable sports and youth development in Lagos State.
Speaking during an engagement with the Spires5aside team ahead of the upcoming Spires5aside Lagos State Tournament, the DG welcomed the initiative’s broader vision of using football as a gateway to talent discovery, youth empowerment and opportunity creation.
The engagement also highlighted Spires5aside’s commitment to building beyond the pitch through Sports-Tech and youth empowerment initiatives, giving young people access to digital skills and pathways that can translate into sustainable opportunities.
From grassroots football to technology, the goal is simple: discover talent, create opportunities and empower the next generation.
A stronger sports ecosystem requires collaboration, and the private sector has a major role to play.
This is bigger than football. This is about the future.
