Wasola FC and Blood and Sand FC Secure Spots in Spires State Championship After Gripping Ikeja Division Semi-Finals

The much-anticipated semi-final matches of the Spires 5-aside Divisional Qualifiers in Ikeja have concluded, with Wasola FC and Blood and Sand FC emerging as the two teams that will square up in a final to decide who holds bragging rights for the Ikeja division 2025.

Wasola FC booked their place in the final with a commanding 5-2 victory over Amsterdam FC. A scintillating hat-trick from Jimba, alongside goals from Adigun and Rotimi, proved more than enough to silence a resilient Amsterdam side. Amsterdam, despite finding the back of the net through Habeeb and David, could not match Wasola’s attacking firepower and were ultimately overwhelmed.

In the second semi-final, Blood and Sand FC claimed a dominant 3-1 victory over Soccer Gem FA. Ebube, Papa, and Alabi each found the net, ensuring their team’s smooth progression to the final. The two winning teams, Wasola FC and Blood and Sand FC, will meet in the final on April 26th at 1:00 PM at the EL Cesped pitch, located on Victoria Odeniran Street, Salvation Road, Opebi, Ikeja. The match will determine who will take the title of Ikeja Divisional Champions 2025, although both sides have already earned their spots in the state championship later this year.

Before the highly anticipated final, the 3rd place play-off between Amsterdam FC and Soccer Gem FA will take place at 12:00 PM. This match will decide the final team to represent the Ikeja division at the state championship.
